Autism Society Acadiana provides support for communities. Making informed decisions about supports and interventions can be emotional and challenging. While there are a variety of support services, you must decide what is best for you and/or your loved one.

Support Groups Managed by ASA:

LAFAYETTE FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP
Lafayette Parish-based support group that is open in all parishes. This support group is designed for Autistic individuals, parents, caregivers, and family members who support Autistic individuals.

IBERIA FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP
Iberia Parish-based support group that is open is all parishes. This support group is designed for Autistic individuals, parents, caregivers, and family members who support Autistic individuals.

S.T.A.R.S.
This support group is designed for neurotypical siblings of Autistic individuals ages 6-17 years old. This group utilizes music, games, art, and stories in a safe, non-judgmental space to enhance the mental and emotional well-being of the participants.

J.F.A.D.
This support group is designed for male caregivers of autistic individuals. This is a peer-led support group. The group is led by male caregivers of autistic persons with a concentration on giving and receiving advice, as well as getting emotional support.

Just For Moms
This support group is designed for male caregivers of autistic individuals. This is a peer-led support group. The group is led by female caregivers of autistic persons with a concentration on giving and receiving advice, as well as getting emotional support.

Non-Affiliated Support Groups Supported by ASA:

Managing Asperger’s Together (M.A.T.)
This is a support group for adult and young adult individuals diagnosed with Asperger’s and/or high functioning Autism. The group is led and managed by self-advocate, Paul Ganucheau and meets in the St. Landry, Evangeline, and Acadia Parish areas. The group offers resource information as well as emotional support.
